In this tutorial, we are going to see how to switch between desktops in windows 10. Multiple desktops in Windows 10 allow you to separate programs into different groups. All your files related to a project can be opened on one desktop. Microsoft has added virtual desktops to Windows 10 for multitasking organization. Here’s how to set it up.

Step 1: Click Task View icon in the taskbar. You can also use Windows + Tab keyboard shortcut to see the tasks.

 
Step 2: Click on New Desktop button in the task view.
 

 
Step 3: Windows will create an additional virtual desktop that you can access with the keyboard shortcut Windows + Tab.
 

 
 
Once your additional desktop is created, you can open new programs on it. You can also drag a window from one desktop to another and switch to the other desktop using Windows + Tab keyboard shortcut.

Other shortcuts that make it easier to use multiple virtual desktops:

  • Windows + CTRL + Left or Right Arrow: Switch to the previous or next desktop.
  • Windows + CTRL + D: Create a new desktop.
  • Windows + CTRL + F4: Close the current desktop.

This is a great way to organize and group files and programs depending on when and how you need to use them.
