In this tutorial, we are going to see how to turn on speech recognition in Windows 10. Voice control is a convenient way to conquer tasks quickly when everything is working well. Windows 10 already includes voice commands for some of its most popular features, including Cortana, which makes it easy to quickly find apps or answer questions.

Step 1: In the search box, type “Windows Speech Recognition” and then press it to open it.
 

 
Step 2: Click Next to begin.

 
Step 3: Select your microphone and press Next. If you want the best results, a headset or other stand-alone microphone is a solid bet. For laptop users, or those with built-in microphones, these will work just fine.

 
 
Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions to place the microphone and press Next when ready.

 
Step 5: Read the instructions on the screen to calibrate the microphone and press Next.

 
Step 6: Choose whether you want to allow your computer to review documents and emails to better understand you when you speak.

 
Step 7: Select an activation mode. Windows speech recognition can be disabled when you say Stop listening with the voice activation mode, or you can use a Keyboard Shortcut CTRL + Windows to turn the service on or off.
