How to Check if Windows 10 is Activated

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to check if Windows 10 is activated. If you have just bought a Windows 10 PC or a license, it is important to check the activation status of Windows 10 after installing Windows 10 on your system. Although Windows allows you to easily know whether your system is fully activated or not, sometimes it can be quite confusing. So, here are some methods to check whether Windows 10 is activated properly or not.
 

Method 1 to Check if Windows 10 is Activated Using Control Panel

 
Step 1: In the search box, type Control Panel and then press it to open it.
 

 

 
Step 2: In the control panel, search for System and click on it.
 

 
Step 3: Under the Windows Activation section, you should see Windows is activated if Windows 10 is properly activated.
 

 
If Windows is not activated, you will see the activation status of Windows as Windows is not activated.
 
 

Method 2 to Check if Windows 10 is Activated Using System App

Step 1: Start by opening the Settings. Click on the Start menu and then on the gear icon to access the Windows Settings.
 

 
Step 2: Then go to the Updates & Security menu.
 

 
Step 3: In the left pane, click on Activation. As you can see Windows is activated.
 

 
If Windows is not activated, you will see the message Windows 10 is not activated next to Activation.
 

 

Method 3 to Check if Windows 10 is Activated Using CMD or PowerShell

Step 1: Click on start button and type CMD. Then click on its icon.
 

 
Step 2: Then type the following command before confirming with the Enter key.

slmgr /xpr

If Windows is activated correctly, you will see the pop-up box The machine is permanently activated.
