You’ve probably heard the quote if it’s free, you’re the product. Unfortunately, this is proving to be a little too true with Windows 10. After advertising in the Start menu and in the lock screen, it’s now the turn of File Explorer.

Indeed, the firm recently took the liberty of placing an advert in File Explorer. But according to the company, it is not an advertisement but a suggestion. Yeah, right! However, this “suggestion” promotes an Office 365 offer at $6.99 per month to have 1TB of online storage with OneDrive.

But the good news is that Microsoft once again allows you to disable this advertising.
 

 

How to disable ads in File Explorer in Windows 10

Step 1: Open File Explorer, then click on the File menu and Change Folder and Search Options.
 

 
Step 2: A small window will open (Folder Options). Go to the View tab and then scroll down until you find Show Sync Provider Notifications.
 

 
Step 3: All you have to do is uncheck the box, then validate with OK. Now you will no longer see suggestions, notifications, advertisements in the Windows 10 File Explorer.
