How to Disable Windows 10 Data Collection

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to disable Windows 10 data collection.

Maybe you don’t know it, but when you use Windows 10, the evil Microsoft is watching you closely, very closely.

In fact, the Redmond firm is constantly collecting information that is on your computer. This is called telemetry. The information sent to Microsoft is numerous: technical specifications of your PC, the applications installed on it, the frequency or duration of use of certain features or applications, the applications you use most often, and of course to know if your Windows is working properly.

Anyway, so much data that you don’t want to share with anyone. So if, you want to disable Windows 10 telemetry and thus strengthen your privacy, follow the few steps below.
 

How to Disable Windows 10 Data Collection

In order to limit sending your information to Microsoft, there are several options that should be disabled in Windows 10. Follow this tutorial!

Step 1: Click on the Start button at the bottom left of your screen.


 
 
Step 2: Click on Settings.
 

 
Step 3: Then go to Privacy.
 

 
Step 4: In the General tab, disable all options on the page:

  • Let apps use my advertising ID.
  • Let websites provide locally relevant content by accessing my language list.
  • Let Windows track app launches to improve start and search results.
  • Show me suggested content in the Settings app.


 

 
Step 5: Then click on Location in the left column. Click on the Edit button and then disable the function that provides the location of your device to applications that request it.
 

 
Step 6: A little bit down, click on Clear to delete your existing location history.
 

 
Step 7: Now go to the Inking & typing personalization section, then under Getting to Know You, flip the switch to Off.
 

 
Step 8: Then, in the left column, click on Diagnostics & feedback, and check the box Basic: Send only information about your device, its settings and capabilities, and whether it is performing properly.
 

 
 
Step 9: Again in the same section, disable the Tailored Experiences and Show Diagnostic Data settings.
 

 
Step 8: Finally, take the opportunity to delete the diagnostic data by clicking the Delete button and in the drop-down menu under Feedback Frequency choose Never.
 

 
Step 9: On the section History of activities. Uncheck the following boxes:
