In this tutorial, we are going to see how to stop programs from automatically updating in Windows 10. If you have installed some applications from Windows Store of Windows 10, you have probably noticed that the program updates are done automatically.

Enabling this option by default is a big mistake from Microsoft. Not only does it use bandwidth, but also new versions of applications are not always good to take (design changes, missing features, etc.).

How to Stop Programs From Automatically Updating in Windows 10

Step 1: Open the Windows Store
 

 

 
Step 2: In the upper right corner, next to the search bar, you should see a small image representing your Microsoft account, and three dots. Click on it and choose Settings from the drop-down menu.
 

 
Step 3: You should now see a switch under Update applications automatically. Set it to Off and you’re done!
