How to Block Inappropriate Websites on Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to block inappropriate websites on Windows 10.

Just created a child account on Windows 10? Great! Now you need to protect your children on the Internet. And to do this, it is mandatory to block access to certain websites. First of all, there are obviously websites with pornographic content, incitement to racial hatred, or those displaying shocking images and videos.

To control the websites that your children are allowed to visit when they are on Windows 10, I invite you to follow these few steps.

How to Block Inappropriate Websites on Windows 10

To filter out websites and search results that are not suitable for young children, do the following:

Step 1: Click on the Start button at the bottom left of your screen.

Step 2: Click on Settings.

Step 3: Select Accounts.

Step 4: In the left pane, click on Family & Other Users, then under the Your Family section, click on the Manage Family Settings Online link.

Note: you can always access the family settings in your Microsoft account by following this link. And sign in with your child Microsoft account.

Step 5: Under the child account section, click on the More Options menu, then Content Restrictions.

Step 6: Under the Web Browsing section, enable the Block Inappropriate Websites switch.

Note: You can also manually allow or block a website. To do this, click Add a website to allow or Add a website to block, and then enter the domain name of the site. For example, “google.com”. Click the “+” button to confirm the link.

That’s it! Now, when your children surf the Internet, they will only be able to visit websites that are authorized and appropriate for them.

Also, if your children try to open a website that is on the “Always Blocked” list, the site page will not load. However, they will see an option to ask you for permission to access the site, which you can approve via email.

In case you have multiple web browsers installed on your computer, such as Chrome or Firefox, Windows 10 will also block inappropriate content for your children. Moreover, the child account does not allow downloading and installing apps, which means that there is almost no way to bypass the web filter. Be safe.
