How to Create a New Library in Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to create a new library in Windows 10. Windows libraries are very useful for many reasons. They allow you to group all your documents, pictures, music, or videos into one folder. This way, you don’t have to waste your time going through each folder to find a file. For example, if you are looking for a picture, you know that it will be in the “Pictures” library. Likewise, if you’re looking for your resume or bank details, you know the file will be in “Documents”.

Moreover, you can create new Windows libraries to access your virtual machines with one click. And we will see together in this tutorial how to do it.
 

 

How to Create a New Library in Windows 10

Step 1: Start by opening File Explorer using the Windows keyboard shortcut + E.

Step 2: In the left pane, click on Libraries. If the folder does not appear, right click and select Show Libraries.
 

 
Step 3: From the Libraries window, right-click in an empty space and select New and Library.
 

 

 
Step 4: Name your new library as you wish, for example Virtual Machines, then double-click on it.
 

 
Step 5: Then click on Include a folder, and select the folder you want.
 

 
 
Step 6: Select the folder you want
 

 
That’s it, your new library is now created. You can now access your folder much faster.
 

 
Note that you can customize the icon of your new library. To do so, right-click on it, then select Properties and Edit Library Icon.
