In this tutorial, we are going to see how to delete temporary files in Windows 10. Deleting temporary files is one of the best ways to free up some free space on your Windows operating system. In this tutorial, we will see together how to get rid of those useless files that take up space on your hard drive or SSD.
 

Method 1: How to Delete Temporary Files in Windows 10

Step 1: Click on the Start button at the bottom left of your screen.
 


 
 
Step 2: Click on Settings.
 

 
Step 3: Then go to System.
 

 
Step 4: Once in the system settings, click on Storage in the left pane, then click on Temporary Files.
 

 
 
Step 5: Wait a few seconds while the temporary files are analyzed… As you can see in the screenshot above, the size of the temporary files on the SSD drive is 8.75 GB, which is pretty big.

Check the item(s) you want to delete from your computer, and then click the Remove Files button.
 

 
 

Method 2: How to Delete Temporary Files in Windows 10

Step 1: Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows + R on your keyboard.
 

 

 
Step 2: Once opened, type the command %temp%, then press Enter to open the Temp folder containing all the temporary files.
 

 
Step 3: Select all files and folders, then click on the small arrow just below the Delete button at the top of the window and select Permanently Delete.
