How to Activate a Window by Hovering Over it with the Mouse in Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse in Windows 10. To activate a window, whether for Windows or for any other operating system, usually you just have to click on it to make it appear in the foreground and access its contents with the mouse: icons, files, folders… This is the normal way of working since the emergence of user interfaces based on windows, drop-down menus, and mouse manipulations.

However, with Windows 10, a window can be activated without clicking on it with the mouse button, but only by hovering over it with the mouse cursor.
 

 

How to Activate a Window by Hovering Over it with the Mouse in Windows 10

 
Step 1: Type the keyword Control Panel in the Windows 10 Start menu, then press Enter.
 

 
Step 2: Once open, next to View by: at the top right of the window, select Small Icons instead of Category. Then look for the Ease of Access Center setting and click on it.
 

 

 
Step 3: At this level, various settings are available to make your computer easier to use (display, sounds, keyboard, mouse…). Click on the Make the mouse easier to use setting.
 

 
Step 4: Under the heading Make it easier to manage windows, check the box button Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse.
 

 
Step 5: Click on the Apply button and then on OK for the change to take effect.
 
A window is then activated as soon as the mouse cursor hovers over it without having to click on it.
