How to Create a System Image in Windows 10

In case your hard drive or computer fails, it is strongly recommended to create a system image of your Windows beforehand. A system image is an exact copy of your hard disk needed to run Windows. It can be used to restore your computer in case of a problem. However, you cannot select individual components to restore. The system image contains a copy of your Windows, your programs, your system settings, and all your files.
 

How to Create a System Image in Windows 10

Step 1: Open the Start menu, then type Control Panel.
 

 

 
Step 2: Once the Control Panel window is open, click on the Backup and Restore (Windows 7) link.
 

 
Step 3: In the left pane, click on the following link: Create a system image.
 

 
Step 4: Now select where you want to save your system image backup: to a hard drive, to one or more DVDs, or to a network location, and click Next.
