How to Disable the Action Center in Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to disable the Action Center in Windows 10. As you may have noticed, Windows 10 now includes a notification and action center that allows you to receive notifications from your system and from different applications. But if you want, you can disable the Windows 10 Notifications and Actions Center. Let’s see how to do it by adjusting the Windows registry.

How to Disable the Action Center in Windows 10

Step 1: Right-click on the Start button, select Run.

Step 2: Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Step 3: After that, navigate to the following Registry key:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
If you don’t have the “Explorer” folder, create it by right-clicking on the “Windows” folder in the left panel of the Registry Editor, then select “New” and “Key”. Name the new folder as follows: “Explorer”.

Step 4: Now right-click on the empty space in the right pane and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Step 5: Name the key as follows: DisableNotificationCenter

Step 6: Then double-click the key and set its value to 1.

Click OK and exit the Registry Editor.

Finally, restart your computer to see the change.

If for some reason you want to go back and thus re-enable the Windows 10 Notification and Action Center, simply remove the DisableNotificationCenter key or change its value to 0 and restart your computer again.
