How To Increase Font Size In CMD

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to increase font size in CMD. The famous cmd.exe of Windows allows increasing the size of texts for better readability on the screen. A little-known but very useful option. which is compatible with all versions of Windows: both workstation (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7) and Windows Server (2019, 2016, 2012 / R2, 2008 / R2 …). In short, all versions of Windows and even XP can change, up or down, the text size and font for more comfort on the screen.

It is also possible to change the colors of the text and the background of the command prompt. Some other options exist to customize the Windows Command Prompt: the size of the cmd window, the size of the buffer (number of history lines displayed on the screen). We won’t make it like a Linux Terminal but these options allow us to have a full-screen cmd, for more comfort when playing a script or analyzing traces.
 

 

How To Increase Font Size In CMD

 
Step 1: Click on start button and type CMD. Then click on its icon.
 

 
Step 2: In the Command Prompt, right click on the title bar and choose Properties:
 

 
Step 3: Go to the Font tab in the “Command Prompt Properties”:
 

 

 
Step 4: Change the Size and/or the Font, an immediate preview allows you to see the changes:
 

 
Step 5: Validate with OK and run a new cmd to see the changes:
 

 
So it’s much more readable than before.
