Step 1: Open the command prompt. The fastest way to do this is to click the Windows key, type CMD, then press Enter or click the application.
 

 
Step 2: Right-click on the title bar of the command prompt and choose Properties.
 

 
 
Step 3: Uncheck the box Use legacy console (requires relaunch) . This should automatically check the Enable Ctrl key shortcuts option.
 

 
Step 4: Click OK.

You can now select text with your mouse or keyboard. Press CTRL + C to copy it, then CTRL + V to paste it into the window. You can also easily paste text that you have copied from another program into the command prompt using the same shortcut.
