How to Turn On File and Printer Sharing in Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to turn On File and Printer Sharing in Windows 10. This process can also be applied on Windows 7 and Windows 8. File and printer sharing is the ability of a computer running Windows to share a connected folder or printer with other computers on a network.

File sharing allows you to make files and folders in a shared folder accessible to other network users for viewing, copying, or editing.

For example, printer sharing allows you to make a connected printer available to other computer users on the network.

This is really useful on the home network but it can cause security problems on the public network.

If you are connected to a public network location (e.g. coffee shop or library), you can disable file and printer sharing until you are connected to a private network location (e.g. home or work).

You must be logged in as an administrator to enable or disable file and printer sharing.
