How to Show Seconds in System Clock in Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to show seconds in system clock in Windows 10. By default, the Windows 10 taskbar clock only displays the time in hours and minutes. However, using a simple Registry tweak, it is also possible to display seconds. However, this trick only works on Windows 10. If you are running Windows 7, you will, unfortunately, have to use a program like TClock or DS Clock.

How to Show Seconds in System Clock in Windows 10

Step 1: Right-click on the Start button, select Run.

Step 2: Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Step 3: After that, navigate to the following Registry key:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Step 4: Now, right-click on the Advanced folder (in the left pane), then select New, then DWORD (32-bit) value.

Step 5: Name this new value ShowSecondsInSystemClock and press Enter.

Step 6: Then double-click on this new value and assign the value 1 and click on OK.

Step 7: You can now close the Registry Editor. To apply the changes, restart your computer or log out and log back into Windows.

If you want to remove the seconds from the clock, just go back to the Registry Editor and delete the ShowSecondsInSystemClock value or set its value to 0.
