How to Enable Remote Desktop on Windows 10

In this tutorial, we are going to see how to enable Remote Desktop on Windows 10. Remote Desktop allows you to connect and access a computer remotely from another device. To do this, all you need to do is enable the feature built into Windows 10 and download the Remote Desktop client available on Windows, Android, iOS, and macOS. This will allow you to work from another device as if you were working directly on your computer.
 

 

How to Enable Remote Desktop on Windows 10

This is the PC to which you want to be able to connect through the local network via the WiFi / Ethernet connection or through the Internet:

Step 1: Click on the Start button at the bottom left of your screen.
 


 
Step 2: Click on Settings.
 

 
Step 3: Click on System.
 

 
 
Step 4: Click on Remote Desktop in the left menu and toggle the switch to Enable Remote Desktop.
 

 
Step 5: Click confirm in the dialog box that opens.
 

 
Step 6: Make a note of the computer name on the Remote Desktop screen. You will need it for the next step
 

 
Also, identify the local IP address of your computer and write it down if you want to connect from the same network.
 
 

Remote connection from another Windows 10 PC (local network)

Once Remote Desktop is enabled on your computer, it is ready for access at any time as long as it is connected to the local network.
 
Step 1: From another Windows 10 PC. Type Remote Desktop Connection in the Windows search bar and then click on the corresponding option that appears in the search results.
 

 
Step 2: In the window that opens, enter the local IP address of the previously selected computer or its name.
 

 
Step 3: Click on Connect. Then enter the account’s Windows username and password.
 
From a Windows, Android, or iOS smartphone or tablet. The process is almost the same. Just install the Remote Desktop application for free from Microsoft Store, Google Play Store or from the App Store. Fill in the name of the PC you want to connect to or its local IP address, then start the connection.
