Example of LAN
In this tutorial, we are going to see some example of LAN(Local Area Network) in real life. LAN is a set of computers belonging to the same organization and linked together in a small geographical area by a network, often using the same technology (the most common is Ethernet).
It is possible to distinguish two modes of operation:
- in a “peer to peer” environment, in which there is no central computer and each computer has a similar role
- in a “client/server” environment, in which a central computer provides network services to users
Examples of LAN:
LAN allows devices to communicate with each other. Thanks to this network that an employee can access, for example, from his computer, files stored on a common server,
Or print files via the office printer.
But all these computer or IP terminals must be connected to each other.
