In this tutorial, we are going to see What is WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Network)?
The Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN) is known as a Radio Local Loop (RLL). WMANs are based on the IEEE 802.16 standard. The radio local loop offers a useful speed of 1 to 10 Mbit/s for a range of 4 to 10 kilometers, which makes this technology mainly intended for telecommunication operators.
The best-known wireless metropolitan area network standard is WiMAX, which can achieve data rates of 70 Mbps over a distance of several kilometers.
